Found August 20, 2013 on Fox Sports:
Mike Trout was out of the Los Angeles Angels' starting lineup for the second straight game Tuesday night to rest his tight right hamstring. Although the All-Star outfielder was available to hit, he was expected to miss consecutive games for the first time in the last two seasons when the Angels host Cleveland. Trout had sat out just one game in his outstanding season before missing the first two games of the Angels' series against the Indians. ''We'll just give it another day,'' Trout said. ''Keep icing it, keep taking care of it, and I'll hopefully be out there tomorrow.'' Trout felt tightness in his leg while running out a double Sunday in a loss to Houston, leaving in the fifth inning. He sat out Monday's series opener against the Indians, and the Angels decided to be cautious with the franchise's most valuable player. ''Mike feels a little better,'' manager Mike Scioscia said. ''But he's not...

Trout out of Angels' lineup for at least one more game

An Angels team that scored just three runs in 23 innings of two games without Mike Trout will have to go another day and possibly more without its star outfielder and top hitter. Trout will miss Wednesday's series finale against the Cleveland Indians because of a tight right hamstring, and Manager Mike Scioscia did not seem optimistic that Trout, who is batting .333 with 21...

Angels' Mike Trout still not playing, hamstring injury lingering

While it's a good thing the Los Angeles Angels are not sending Mike Trout out to play with a lingering hamstring strain, it's concerning that the injury has not improved all that much.  Many times teams will let star player try to work throughout he injury with a few days off, but it seems hamstring injuries tend to need a trip to the DL.  Especially this season. According...

Los Angeles Angels' outfielder Mike Trout was scratched from Monday night's lineup against the Cleveland Indians, a day after he left a game with tightness in his right hamstring. As reported by Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com, Trout injured his hamstring while running out a double in the third inning of Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Astros. He scored later in the inning on...

Angels' Trout sits to rest hamstring

Mike Trout isn't in the Los Angeles Angels' lineup for their series opener against Cleveland, resting his right hamstring. Angels manager Mike Scioscia says Trout might be available as a pinch-hitter Monday night. Trout felt tightness in his hamstring Sunday while running out a double, and he left the Angels' loss to Houston after the fifth inning. Los Angeles decided...

How Much Would You Pay for One Year of Mike Trout?

Recently, I was asked what I think turns out to be a pretty interesting thought experiment: if Mike Trout was released by the Angels and became a free agent, but decided he did not want to sign long term with any other team and simply preferred to go year to year instead, where would the […]

Albert Pujols out for the rest of the season

The Los Angeles Angels are learning the hard way why you do not sign a player that has been in the league for a more than a decade to a 10-year, $240 million contract. Skills deteriorate and eventually the body breaks down and injuries happen, leaving you with a real expensive cheerleader. First baseman Albert Pujols has been on the DL since July 27 with a partial tear

Indians west-coast swing continues in Los Angeles

Mike Trout and Jered Weaver have been two of the few bright spots for the disappointing Los Angeles Angels, though neither gave the team anything to celebrate the last time they left the field. Trout's status is uncertain due to an injury, and Weaver will be looking to bounce back from one of the worst outings of his career as Los Angeles hosts the Cleveland Indians on Monday...

Finding bright spots amid Angels' struggles

ANAHEIM, Calif. Silver linings are tough to find these days. The Angels keep looking for them, but all they see are mounting losses. They don't have Mike Trout, who sat for a third consecutive game because of a right hamstring injury. They don't have Albert Pujols, whose foot injury has knocked him out for the rest of the season. Second baseman Howie Kendrick still isn...

Indians, Angels going in opposite directions

After learning Albert Pujols will be out for the year one day after Mike Trout suffered an injury that kept him out of the lineup, the Los Angeles Angels are searching for any sort of good news to lighten up a season that has provided its share of dark moments. C.J. Wilson has been solid against the Cleveland Indians of late, and he'll look to help host Los Angeles win for only...

Unwatchable Angels lose to Cleveland, 5-2

Yep, the Angels lost again. Nope, I didn't watch. This team has been hard enough to stomach the last few weeks, so I wasn't about to subject myself to three and a half hours of torture when I know full well that Mike Trout won't be involved in the night's festivities. So, instead of faking a recap like I actually did watch the game, I'm just going to review...
