On July 28th at 9:00 AM PST, AngelsWin.com members, our awesome followers from our twitter/facebook pages and special guests Angels play-by-by announcer Victor Rojas, FoxSportsWest Chris McGee, AM830's Jason Brennan and a few more surprises will all embark upon the fields at Pioneer Park in Anaheim, CA to go head to head in a softball match.  There will be four teams, four team captains and three games. The winner of the two morning games will face off in a 4 inning championship contest right after the first two games have ended. Steel Morris has secured the field for us and will be present, along with a DJ for some PBP and commentary.  Donations for playing are required, but there's no minimum entry cost to play. Remember though, all of the proceeds to use the field will go toward the OC Miracle League, Steel Morris' charity for special needs kids to have a field to play baseball right next to the field we'll be playing on. I will have a donation bucket f...

Important Update: Mike Trout Rules

Your browser does not support iframes. If you haven’t been following the story of Los Angles Angels rookie Mike Trout this season, here’s the gist: he’s everything you want to like about Bryce Harper without all the things you hate about Bryce Harper. Via AOL FanHouse: [J.J.] Hardy thought he had his 12th home run of the season in the bottom of the first inning after he drove...

The road ahead for Garrett Richards

The oft-hyped prospect Garrett Richards has finally found himself some time in the Angels rotation after spending a little over a full season trying to crack the roster. While his incredibly short time in the bigs last season was plagued with failure his recent call-up has been a much different story. While last year Richards couldn't even keep his team in the game this season...

Mike Trout Makes Another ‘Decent’ Catch

The Angels have been pretty pleased with the play of their 20-year-old rookie, Mike Trout… to put it lightly. On Wednesday night Trout again flashed his glove and robbed a would be home run. I’d say this young man will be in the big leagues for quite a while. Your browser does not support iframes. Article found on: Cosby Sweaters

Pujols Watch: Albert Pujols collects four hits in win over Blue Jays

Albert Pujols has found his stride and has raised his average to .270 on the season thanks to a four hit night on Thursday. -(Photo credit: BaseballBacks) Albert Pujols is a long way removed from the horrid start to his first season as a member of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. After a disasterous start that saw Pujols hit just .217 with no home runs in the month of April...

Despite 10th save, Angels' Frieri is not overconfident

American League hitters haven't gotten to Los Angeles Angels right-hander Ernesto Frieri yet. But he knows they will. "I know tomorrow or maybe the next day I'm going to give up a run -- because I'm not perfect. I'm a human," Frieri said after converting his 10th save since being traded to the Angels on May 3. "Whenever that happens, I'll be fine...

Angels' Trout, Trumbo deserve All-Star consideration

The waiting is almost over. Most of this year's All-Star rosters will be announced Sunday -- there is still a "Final Vote" competition to select the last player on each league's roster plus the inevitable injury replacements. The two young players that have driven the Angels back into contention after a disappointing start -- Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo ...

Offense rolls as Haren continues struggles

The only thing that saved Dave Haren from a loss Thursday night in Toronto was the Angels' offense. If not for Mike Trout, Mark Trumbo, Albert Pujols and everyone else who contributed in an 9-7 win over the Blue Jays, Haren would be sitting on his eighth loss of the season. He won only because the Angels kept pounding out hits to put him in front. Every time he gave up a lead...

Trout and Trumbo homer, Angels beat Blue Jays

TORONTO (AP) -- Rookie Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo each hit two-run homer, Alberto Callaspo added a solo blast and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Toronto Blue Jays 9-7 on Thursday night for their 14th victory in 18 games. Trout went 2 for 5 to raise his American League-leading average to .345 as the Angels, who have won 25 of 33 overall, improved to 14-1 in their past 15 road contests...

Derby Day with Mark Trumbo

Mark Trumbo had 17 home runs heading into the series in Baltimore and finished up with 18, adding one more amidst the offensive pillage of Camden Yards followed by one more in Toronto to bring his grand total to 19. To date, that puts him only 7 behind the Major League leader Jose Bautista (26) coming up here on the All-Star break. Some say he's a shoe-in for the Home Run Derby...

Mike Trout Has Catch of the Year, Robbing J.J. Hardy of Home Run (Video)

Mike Trout pulled a Torii Hunter on Wednesday afternoon in Baltimore, and fittingly, Torii Hunter was the first one to congratulate him for it. Trout robbed Baltimore's J.J. Hardy of a home run by leaping well over the right-center fence at Camden Yards, right in front of the Southwest Airlines sign. Talk about flight. Check out the catch of the year below. A brief, incomplete list of things more likely to happen than Vernon Wells being traded

So, apparently making up Vernon Wells is a thing now.  If you checked out the Halo Headlines this morning, you were treated to not one but two different stories from respected(?) national reporters who both suggested that the Angels could find a taker for Vernon Wells at the trade deadline.  This is, in a word, laughable because: Vernon Wells has the worst contract in baseball...
