A bad Tim Lincecum start no longer is a rarity. It's part of a trend. Nine hits and four walks in 5 2/3 innings? Thirty pitches in the first inning? For a guy who thinks WHIP (walks and hits over innings pitched) is one heck of a stat, Lincecum might not want to see his these days. As manager Bruce Bochy said of Lincecum, whose WHIP is 1.58, ERA is 6.00 and winless streak is a career-high eight starts, "We keep saying he's close, and I still believe that. But he was off at times today, no getting around that." The Giants have won just two of Lincecum's 13 starts. In Sunday's 5-0 loss to Texas, their offense was next to nothing. Aubrey Huff's pinch-hit double in the sixth was their first hit.
