Day two of the 2011 Winter Meetings in Dallas brought more of the same as first day did for the Arizona Diamondbacks. The club didn’t make a single significant move in terms of signing a free agent or making a trade with another team across the league on Tuesday. Talks for Arizona continue to center around two players who were with the team in 2011, Joe Saunders and Lyle Overbay. The D’Backs reportedly made a two-year, $12 million deal to the left-hander on Monday, but Saunders and his agent are expected to counter it. Both sides are trying to hash out a deal before the arbitration deadline on Dec. 12. GM Kevin Towers has said he wants to make a decision on Saunders future with the team by that deadline. As for Overbay, he has yet to sign a contract with the D’Backs. Towers believed that he was going to re-sign with the Diamondbacks by Monday night, but that fell through.
