After acquiring Craig Breslow as part of the Trevor Cahill trade, the Diamondbacks added another arm for their bullpen on Monday. Arizona signed veteran right-hander Takashi Saito to a one-year deal, according to Jon Heyman. Terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed. Saito might be best be known by Diamondbacks fans as the Dodgers closer from 2006-2008. During those three seasons, the 41-year-old didn’t post an ERA above 2.50 and converted 81 saves while in Los Angeles. The veteran moved on to Boston the following season where he once again put together an ERA under 2.50 at 2.43 in 55 appearances. Saito moved again this time to Atlanta in 2010, where he had a 2.83 ERA, but had his first losing record since coming over to America. In his first five seasons in the big leagues, Saito was fortunate enough to not have to battle injuries, but 2011 was a much different story for he Japanese reliever. In Milwaukee with the Brewers, Saito appeared in only 30 games, but was still effec...
