The Indians got some much-needed depth in their starting rotation. Whether the name is Roberto Hernandez, Fausto Carmona or Brett Myers, that depth doesn’t come cheap.

With Tuesday's signing of Brett Myers, the Cleveland Indians continued to address the team's needs. The Myers move is just the latest in what has been a very busy offseason for the Tribe. The team's needs have not differed much this offseason when compared to last offseason, yet the Indians have approached the needs in an entirely differently way this year. The IBI'...
On Thursday the Indians officially announced that they have signed free agent outfielder Nick Swisher to a four year $56 million deal with a vesting club option for 2017. To make room on the roster they designated outfielder Thomas Neal for assignment.
The Indians made a small transaction on Wednesday bringing back first baseman/outfielder Russ Canzler and in turn designated right-handed pitcher Jeanmar Gomez for assignment. The Blue Jays had claimed Canzler off waivers from the Indians almost two weeks ago, but the Indians returned the favor as they reclaimed him today.
Take Brett Myers' name off the board. The righty pitcher has signed a one-year deal with the Cleveland Indians. He will likely be added to the team's starting rotation despite working out of the bullpen for the last three seasons. He has plenty of experience as a starter.
According to Tom Withers of the Associated Press (via Yahoo! Sports), Myers signed a one-year...
While the Cleveland Indians announced an agreement with
right-hander Brett Myers yesterday, they have also recently been talking with free
agent starter Shaun Marcum, according to Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports.

It's been a busy week in the numerous winter leagues as now the Dominican, Puerto Rican and Venezuelan winter leagues have all begun round robin postseason play. A few Indians players are still working hard in the leagues, including Juan Diaz in the DWL and Ezequiel Carrera in the VWL. Plus, on another continent, Andrew Campbell continues to rake in the Australian Baseball League...
Twitter is abuzz with rumors that the Indians have signed pitcher Brett Myers. The Indians have yet to confirm the signing which is likely pending a physical if it has actually occurred. Matt Loede from 92.3 the Fan in Cleveland was the first to post it.
If it is true, Brett Meyers gives the Indians a 32-year-old pitcher with starting experience who most recently came out of the...
The Cleveland Indians ended 2012 with a flurry of moves that culminated with the signing of outfielder Nick Swisher. It looks like 2013 is beginning in much the same way, as the Tribe signed right-handed pitcher Brett Myers to a one year deal, with a club option for a second year.
The playoffs in the winter leagues kept rolling Thursday night, with some Cleveland players in key roles. Jose Ramirez kept hitting (no surprise there), Ezequiel Carrera joined him, and Paolo Espino turned in a strong performance on the mound. To help recap their performances and look at the others in action, join Jim Piascik as he takes you Around The Farm.
The Cleveland Indians' signing of right-hander Brett Myers to a one-year contract gives the team another option for the rotation, which is clearly still a work in progress. The only two spots that are settled are the top two, which belong to Justin Masterson and Ubaldo Jimenez. Even those two spots are subject to change, given that Masterson's name has surfaced in trade...
The Cleveland Indians will officially announce the signing of free agent outfielder Nick Swisher. Below is a statement released by the Tribe on the signing; The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has signed free agent OF NICK SWISHER to a four-year contract with a vesting option for the 2017 [...]
Under the city lights of New York, Nick Swisher's personality often shined brighter than his performance. The smiling, laughing right fielder was largely overshadowed by the bigger names in the Yankees' lineup, but this winter, the Indians gave Swisher the star treatment and wooed him to Cleveland with a four-year deal. "Where we were going to be wanted and where we...

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Free agent Brett Myers is getting a fresh "start" with the Indians.
The veteran right-hander has agreed to a one-year contract with a club option for 2014 with Cleveland, which will give him a chance to win a starting job after he pitched in relief last season for Houston and the Chicago White Sox. Myers' deal is contingent on the 32-year-old passing...
