Jacobs notched a hit, bringing his average up to .154. Coyle had another rough game too, going 0-4. Very poor game offensively for the Salem Sox today.

Overview
Obviously Matt Barnes made his professional debut today, and he was spectacular. He went 5 innings allowing only 2 hits, 2 walks, and no runs while striking out 9 batters. Not a bad first professional start at all to say the least. He dominated the hitters and never had trouble putting them away. I’d be surprised if he spent more than 2 months in Greenville if he keeps this up as he is expected to have no trouble at this level. Moving on, 17 year old Jose Vinicio had another great game, going 2-3 with a triple and an inside the park home run.

Opening Day was April 5, 2012 and the Pawsox defeated the Buffalo Bisons 4-2 and continued their opening day streak at 7 games won in a row. Justin Germano got the victory with 5 solid innings of work. Newcomer Ciriaco went 4-5 with 2 RBIs and a stolen base.
