PLAYERS: Jackie Bradley
TEAMS: Boston Red Sox
Salem Red Sox     Box Score                     Overview Another sub par game by Jackie Bradley Jr., going 1-4 with a strikeout. Still too early to be worried though obviously. Bogaerts also went 0fer, going 0-3 with a strikeout. Jacobs notched a hit, bringing his average up to .154. Coyle had another rough game too, going 0-4. Very poor game offensively for the Salem Sox today. Greenville Drive       Box Score                   Overview Obviously Matt Barnes made his professional debut today, and he was spectacular. He went 5 innings allowing only 2 hits, 2 walks, and no runs while striking out 9 batters. Not a bad first professional start at all to say the least. He dominated the hitters and never had trouble putting them away. I’d be surprised if he spent more than 2 months in Greenville if he keeps this up as he is expected to have no trouble at this level. Moving on, 17 year old Jose Vinicio had another great game, going 2-3 with a triple and an inside the park home run.

Bobby Valentine Says Red Sox Have 'A Lot of Heart,' But So Far It's Not the Right Kind

Editor's note: NESN.com is going to tell the story of the 2012 Red Sox in Bobby Valentine's words. Each game day, we will select a Valentine quote that sums up the day for the Red Sox. 2012 Top 20 Prospects – Boston Red Sox

It’s prospect season again. I’ve had my rankings listed on team pages, but have been horrible about keeping those up to date. As I mentioned on the pages, I’m looking at other rankings when I make mine (along with scouting reports and my own opinion). After a small break, I’m back with the Boston Red Sox. For the top 20, I’ve listed them according to my ranking. I’ve...

Will Adrian Gonzalez Lead the Red Sox in Home Runs This Season?

The Red Sox are certainly no strangers to the long ball. While the Sox are without a homer on the year through two games, they were on the wrong end of five by the Tigers on Saturday afternoon. They'll look to reverse that trend on Easter Sunday when they take on Detroit in the hopes of salvaging one win out of the opening three-game set. While Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera...

Red Sox Live Blog: Daniel Bard Takes Mound for First Career Start in Toronto

8 a.m. ET: This is arguably the most talked about start for the Red Sox in quite some time. In the second game against the Blue Jays (2-2), the Red Sox (1-3) will have Daniel Bard on the mound as the 26-year-old officially begins his conversion from reliever to starter. It will signal Bard’s first start since 2007, when he was in the minors. But there is more on the line for Bard...

History Reveals Mixed Bag When Comparing Slow Starts for Red Sox, Yankees (Video)

The last time the Red Sox and the Yankees were 0-3, you may have heard, was way back in 1966. A lot's changed since then, obviously, but NESN Nation's Dan Duquette ventured to take a look back and see what else happened in 1966. Maybe that year wasn't so bad after all. Closer Situation, Bobby Valentine’s Unique Lineup Choices Get Attention as Red Sox Prepare to Face Blue Jays (Video)

The closer question is on the front of everyone's mind going into Monday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Following a tumultuous opening series against Detroit where Alfredo Aceves and Mark Melancon both failed to hold leads, Don...

Sox players may still be at odds over leaked clubhouse information

From ESPN BostonFor the second time in as many days, ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney painted the Red Sox as a team with lingering clubhouse discord from last September's collapse and the reports of pitchers drinking beer and eating fried chicken that followed. Red Sox Swept in Opening Series Against Tigers
