Bronson Arroyo was in cruise control
during his outing on Wednesday
The Reds (76-80) wrapped up a series win over the Astros (53-102) on Wednesday with a 2-0 victory in the last home game of the season. Although much-maligned for the better part of 2011, Bronson Arroyo turned in a stellar outing for his club in this one.
Here's the good, the bad, the notables and the Hard Hat recipient for the intra-division clash:
The Good:
-Arroyo notched his ninth win of the year after tossing a complete-game, six-hit, shutout -- and needed only 91 pitches (64 strikes) to do so.
-Brandon Phillips smacked three singles to raise his average to .297. He also scored a run.
-Miguel Cairo blasted a solo homer in the bottom of the second -- his 8th of '11.
-The Redlegs turned three double plays defensively.
-The boys in the 'pen got a much-appreciated day off.
The Bad:
