Last month, the Arizona Diamondbacks said they were keeping Stephen Drew for the rest of this season.

But something had to change their mind, as they traded their shortstop to the Oakland Athletics. In exchange, the Diamondbacks received infielder Sean Jamieson.
The Athletics were a possible destination spot for Drew prior to the July 31st trade deadline, but no deal could be reached. Now, the Athletics were in need of a shortstop, which is why he was traded.
He is batting .193 with two home runs and 12 RBI’s in 40 games this season. He came off the disabled list in June.
