The weather outside is heating up around the country and so are a number of the bats around the major leagues. Atlanta has been getting great production out of Evan Gattis and Tommy La Stella, as they lead the majors in batting average for the month of June, both hitting over .430. Nick Castellanos, Andrew McCutchen, Alcides Escobar, Troy Tulowitzki, Scooter Gennett and Michael Brantley are all hitting over .390 this month. On the other side of the ball, Jordan Zimmermann, Cole Hamels, Garrett Richards, Jake Arrieta, Dallas Keuchel, Drew Pomeranz and Scott Kazmir are all carrying an ERA under 1 in June.#181325813 / gettyimages.comThe Cleveland Indians have had some big offensive games in June.  Brantley and Asdrubal Cabrera lead the majors in runs scored.  Brantley has 15 runs in 14 games and Cabrera has scored 13 runs in 13 games. Fellow Indian Lonnie Chisenhall who had a huge 3 home run, 9 RBI game, has 17 RBI this month in just 13 games.McCutchen leads all of baseball however with 18 RBI in 14 games, thanks to his 7 home runs and .421 average!Curtis Granderson who has had a miserable start with the New York Mets this year is actually having himself a nice month so far. The lefty is hitting .375 with a .471 OBP, to go along with 3 home runs, 7 runs scored, 8 RBI and 3 stolen bases in 13 games.Another guy who had been a disappointment before June was Billy Hamilton. Hamilton is hitting .306 this month in 13 games with 5 stolen bases and 9 runs scored. He's also showing some pop with 3 home runs and 8 RBI and now has as many home runs as David Wright, with 4 on the year.If you expected Victor Martinez to slow down in June, you were wrong. Martinez is hitting .306 with 4 home runs and 10 RBI. He now has 17 home runs on the year and has struck out just 18 times.Of course guys who are supposed to be tearing it up at the dish like Adam Jones, Mike Trout, Paul Goldschmidt, Adrian Beltre and Alex Rios are all hitting over .340.Pitchers who are enjoying June the most are Yu Darvish, Clayton Kershaw, Charlie Morton, Alfredo Simon, Bud Norris and Bronson Arroyo. These guys are all 3-0 this month. Along with Darvish and Kershaw, Felix Hernandez, David Price and Wade Miley all have a K/9 at 11.0 or higher.Showing great control on the mound is Yankees rookie Chase Whitley, who has not walked a batter in 19.2 innings and that has to be a big reason he's 2-0 this month. Kershaw, Chris Sale, Price, Simon and Kyle Lohse have all thrown at least 20 innings in June and have only surrendered 1 walk.
