The A’s and Angels matched up for Turn Back the Clock day on Saturday, with Oakland prevailing 3-1 thanks to a solid outing from Tommy Milone and a clutch, two-run go-ahead home run off the bat of Derek Norris in the seventh inning.
Oakland went with stylish 1969 jerseys – gold pants, sleeveless gold tops, green sleeves & stirrup socks, while the Angels countered with their own 1969 outfits (complete with halos sewn into the caps).
With one out in the second, Josh Hamilton smacked an offering from Milone deep into the right field bleachers for his 15th home run on the season, giving the Angels a 1-0 lead. Alberto Callaspo singled and Chris Iannetta worked a walk before Erick Aybar popped out to left and J.B. Shuck grounded out to Brandon Moss to end the inning without any further damage.
