Here’s the box.
On the mound:
Brian Burres had his first subpar outing of the spring, allowing 6 runs on 10 hits in 5 innings. Yuck.
Michael Crotta continues to refuse to allow an unearned run. Dark horse for a bullpen spot?
Evan Meek and Chris Resop both pitched solid innings.
Tyler Yates allowed 3 runs in the 9th.
At the plate:
Pedro Alvarez hit his first homer of the spring, which is nice to see as he had been in the midst of a mini-slump.
Andrew McCutchen also went yard.
McCutchen, Lyle Overbay, Ronny Cedeno, and Ryan Doumit all had two hits.
Other stuff:
It was not a good day for Ryan Doumit. He was picked off on the bases TWICE, had a passed ball, and allowed two stolen bases.
The Bucs had 14 hits and scored 5 runs off Houston starter J.A. Happ.
