Houston Astros catcher Carlos Corporan exited last night’s game after taking a foul tip off his mask. After the game, manager Bo Porter told reporters – including Master Tesfatsion of MLB.com – that Corporan was experiencing nausea following the hit to the mask, an indication that he could be dealing with a concussion. "[Corporan] was feeling nauseated and feeling a little dizzy," Astros manager Bo Porter said. "When they started talking to him in the dugout, he was slow to respond." In the third inning, Corporan was hit in the head by a foul tip off the bat of Texas Rangers outfielder Alex Rios. While Corporan was able to finish the inning, he was replaced by Jake Elmore behind the plate in the bottom of the fourth frame. Corporan will undergo concussion testing today as the club determines what the next step is for the backstop. Considering he’s already experienced dizziness and nausea, he would seem to be a candidate to be placed on the team’s seven-day disabled list for concussions.
