Well technically it was a sacrifice bunt turned two base error, with the Nats Roger Bernadina scoring all the way from first on Kurt Suzuki’s sacrifice,  as the Astros ran into each other, dove all over the field, then threw the ball away twice—turning a simple fairly simple play into a Three Stooges routine—basically handing Washington the extra inning victory.

The only thing missing was a stirring rendition of Yakety Sax.

How bad did the Astros look on the play that scored the game winning run?  Even Little Leaguers would shake their heads in disgust at Houston’s ineptitude.  After watching the Astros bumble and stumble their way to a 5-4 loss, it’s easy to see why the team is the worst in the league at 36-74, and why they’ve only won four times in their last 35 games.

Watch the Bad News Bears Houston Astros come up with a unique and embarrassing new way to lose…

Even though Bernadina ran through the 3rd base coach’s stop sign, I’m sure he had no worries that he wouldn’t score after watching the comedy of errors that transpired before him.
