The Houston Astros have sent pitcher Jordan Lyles to Triple-A for the start of the 2013 season. Lyles had been expected to occupy a spot in the Astros rotation. Lyles struggled this spring in action. In 11 2/3 innings of work the right handed pitcher had an 17.74 ERA. With the demotion of Lyles the Astros appear set to start the season with Erik Bedard as their fourth starter and either Brad Peacock or Alex White as the fifth. The 22-year-old Lyles would likely return to the Astros if he fares well at Triple-A. Last year for the Astros he started 25 games and compiled a 5.09 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. Bud Norris will start opening day for the Astros when they play against the Texas Rangers.
