The incident left Houston Astros catcherJason Castro with only a little bit of neck soreness, but the topic of Monday's collision at home plate was hardly dead come Tuesday afternoon.

Castro was the subject of talk on national sports networks, and the big hit played out over and over again on highlight shows.

The play came to the forefront again Tuesday night when Bud Norris hit Milwaukee Brewers leadoff man Rickie Weeks with the first pitch of the bottom of the first inning. (The runner who barreled into Castro -- Milwaukee first baseman Mat Gamel -- was out of the lineup Tuesday with a shoulder injury suffered in the collision.)

Norris was vague when asked about the plunking, which came at the outset of the Astros' 11th consecutive loss to Milwaukee, this one by a 9-6 score.

"It kind of got away from me," Norris said. "I'm going to go out there and stand up for my team. I think the umpires handled it professionally. I think our team handled it professionally. I think Rickie handled it professionally as well. Nothing personal against him."

The Astros were a bit miffed over the play at the plate, though Castro admitted as soon as it happened that it was a hard-nosed baseball play. Houston manager Brad Mills questioned why Gamel didn't just slide.

"At first it was very surprising," Mills said. "My first thought was that he must have had the plate blocked, but then I found out he didn't have the plate blocked, and I said, 'Come on, man.'

"Nobody wants to hurt anybody else purposely, and I don't think he tried to purposely, he was just trying to be safe. But at the same time, when you give him the plate, you'd like to see him go for the plate. Usually when you have a collision like that, the plate is completely blocked."
