The Houston Astros have signed left-handed pitcher Erik Bedard to a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to spring training, Sportsnet.ca reported. Bedard, 33, was 7-14 with a 5.01 ERA in 24 games, all starts, for the Pittsburh Pirates last season. He was released by the Pirates in August.
