Los Angeles Angels
Yoenis Cespedes drove in four runs, Seth Smith knocked in three with a bases-loaded double and the Oakland Athletics beat the Los Angeles Angels 10-6 on Tuesday.
One night after outlasting the Angels 10-8 in a 19-inning classic that lasted 6 1/2 hours, the A's had a few problems defensively but looked just fine at the plate while beating Los Angeles for the fifth consecutive time this season.
Jarrod Parker (1-4) pitched into the seventh inning and Derek Norris scored twice for Oakland, which has won 13 straight against AL West teams.
Mike Trout drove in four runs and Mark Trumbo homered for the second straight game for the Angels. Los Angeles fell to 9-17, the worst start in franchise history.
The Angels are 0-5 against Oakland for the first time since 1990.
Playing in his third game since coming off the disabled list, Cespedes had an RBI double in the fourth, a two-run triple in the fifth and a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
The A's are 3-0 since getting their cleanup h...
BEST OF MAXIM
The Angels' Mark Trumbo has tremendous power, and the 27-year-old put that talent on display in Oakland on Monday night in an AL West divisional battle against the A's. Watch Trumbo absolutely destroy an offering from Oakland's Dan Sally to give the Angels a 2-0 lead in the top of the second: Your browser does not support iframes. CRUSHED. The bomb was estimated...
There is a lot wrong with the LA Angels. Instead of being the World Series contender many thought they would be, the Halos have struggled to a 10-17 record and are already on the verge of having to declare 2013 a lost season. The problem that gets the most attention is Josh Hamilton. While he is having a miserable season, he attracts the attention simply based on brand name recognition...
Josh Hamilton is the most aggressive hack in baseball. This isn’t news, of course, but to put his hacktastic ways in context, here is where Hamilton’s swing rates rank among batters with 500+ PAs in the last year. O-Swing%: 42.7% (150th of 151) Z-Swing: 82.0% (151st of 151) Swing%: 57.9% (150th of 151) Zone%: 38.8% (151st of 151) Contact%: 64.9% (151st of 151) The only guy who...
The Angels-Athletics game is still going on in extra innings right now which is good because it gives fans at the O.co Coliseum a chance to see if this home run that Mark Trumbo hit to lead off the second has landed yet.
Official cause of the baseball's death was ruled to be first degree Trumbombing. Distance of death is unofficially 475 feet which...
The Angels played 19 innings last night, and Peter Bourjos earned a trip to the disabled list after hurting his hamstring. Sometimes we come across random things in our many walks of life and now is as good of a time as any to show one-show all on this.
Here is a Peter Bourjos scouting report from 2010:
A couple interesting things to note here:
At the time, Bourjos’ MLB comp...
The Los Angeles Angels have optioned left handed pitcher Nick Maronde to Double-A Arkansas after allowing three runs in 2 1/3 innings in three appearances last week with the parent club. He should don the halo once again at some point this summer.

Just when it looks like things can't get any worse for the Angels, Mike Scioscia goes and makes a fool of himself. This scene from last night's Angels-Athletics games features a confused Scioscia heading out to the mound with a 3-1 count on Adam Rosales. Of course Scioscia can't do that because pitching coach Mike Butcher went out for a mound visit to pitcher Nick Maronde...
The Los Angeles Angels have placed outfielder Peter Bourjos on the 15-day disabled list after straining his left hamstring. Because his asset is speed, this could be a tricky recovery and Los Angeles will want to make sure that there will be no chance at re-aggravation. Scott Cousins was called up to help fill the void. J.B. Shuck also will see some time.
The post Peter Bourjos...
Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton took the high road when dealing with a group of hecklers at Oakland Coliseum Monday night. The Athletics held "Josh Hamilton Appreciation Night" Monday in reference to the fly ball Hamilton dropped in the final regular season game of 2012 to help the A's win the American League West Division. Of course, Hamilton was a member of the Texas...
Short Stop Erick Aybar was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday by the Lost Angeles Angels. This is great timing considering the loss of Peter Bourjos Monday. That is if you want to look at the bright side of things.

The Oakland Athletics have optioned pitcher Dan Straily to Triple-A Sacramento following a brutal performance in which he gave up six runs over just 4 2/3 innings.

It is too late for me to write a real recap. This game was also too weird and frustrating for such a thing, so here is a list of the nuttiness for those of you who weren't brave enough to stay up and watch:
-Two quality starts in one game from the Angels
-Five players lost to injury
-Two exploded hamstrings
-Two homers by Albert Pujols
-One murdered baseball...
Two games in one.
Brandon Moss hit his second home run of the night with two outs in the bottom of the 19th inning to give the Oakland Athletics a 10-8 victory over the Los Angeles Angels early Tuesday in the longest major league game of the season.
The teams were on the field for 6 hours, 32 minutes in a marathon game that ended at 1:41 a.m. on the West Coast. It was the longest...
Trout and Harper as teammates in the Arizona Fall League.
Over the recent years, baseball has been infused with a huge pool full of highly talented youth. However, it seems that two individuals stand out above the rest. This particular pair of young studs, Bryce Harper and Mike Trout, have often drawn a comparison to each other, and spawned many an argument over who people would...
CJ Wilson began the afternoon hurling 37 pitches in the first inning. So, too see him coming out to the mound in the 7th inning was a minor miracle. Credit the lefty for navigating in and out of trouble, wiggling out of a first inning bases loaded jam and another in the 6th.
In the meantime, the Angels offense scratched together just enough to give Wilson...
