FF Locker Room:
Left-handed reliever Alex Wood was optioned by the Atlanta Braves over the weekend and sent to their Triple-A Gwinnett minor league affiliate. The move was made to open up a spot on the major league roster for Jose Constanza.
Wood, who had a very solid 2.45 earned run average over 16 appearances with Atlanta should be recalled fairly soon, once the All-Star break has passed.

Alex Wood is bound for Triple-A Gwinnett. The Braves reliever pitched 3 2/3 innings in Friday nights game.
The move has little to do with the ability of Wood who only allowed a walk while striking out three on Friday. On the season Wood, 22, owns a 2.45 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP.
Jose Constanza will be called up for Saturday’s game as the...
