They host NL West-leading San Francisco, which is coming off a sweep of the Astros, before heading to Washington for four games in three days. The Nationals hold a three-game lead over the Braves (49-39), who are riding a season-high seven-game winning streak and are 10 games above .500 for the first time since May 20, when they were 26-16. They promptly lost eight straight games after that. The Braves likely will miss both Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum, as the Giants will go with Barry Zito, Ryan Vogelsong and Madison Bumgarner in the series. Bumgarner has pitched a three-hitter, a two-hitter and a one-hitter this year. The Braves are 26-17 away from Turner Field, the second-most road wins in the NL, behind only Washington (27-19). The Braves and Nationals will play a doubleheader on Saturday to make up a rain out from June 1. Randall Delgado, who was sent to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, likely will be recalled to start one of those games. Whos hot: Freddie Freeman had six hits and five RBIs in the sweep of the Mets and is hitting .350 with three home runs and 10 RBIs this month. Freeman has a seven-game hitting streak. The All-Star break didnt slow Jason Heyward. Hes 4-for-11 with three RBIs since the break and has raised his average to .275 with a .347 on-base percentage. Heyward has hit .331 (44-for-133) with eight home runs and 21 RBIs since June 1. Closer Craig Kimbrel, who leads the NL with 27 saves, has saved 19 in a row to go with a 1.03 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 26 games since the start of May. Opponents are hitting .078 (7-for-90) against him and he has a 0.423 WHIP since then. Kimbrel has struck out 62 batters and walked only 10 in 35 innings this year. Michael Bourn has a five-game hitting streak and is hitting .341 this month. Martin Prado has eight RBIs in 11 games in July. Whos not: Dan Uggla is showing signs of coming out of his deep slump. He didnt play on Sunday because of his lack of success against the Mets Johan Santana, but he has a three-game hitting streak with three hits in his past nine at-bats (not counting his single in the All-Star Game). Still, his average has plummeted from .276 on June 5 to .223. Tommy Hanson, who went 4-0 in June, is 1-1 with a 6.05 ERA this month. Hes allowed 13 earned runs in 19 13 innings in July, raising his ERA to 4.02. Tim Hudsons ERA is 4.76 in three starts this month, which includes seven scoreless innings in a win over the Phillies on July 6. Injuries: Atlanta: P Brandon Beachy (Tommy John surgery) will be out until next summer; SS Andrelton Simmons (finger), SS Jack Wilson (finger) and P Jonny Venters (elbow) are on the 15-day DL. San Francisco: 1B Aubrey Huff (knee) is on the 15-day DL. Washington: SS Ian Desmond (oblique) is day-to-day, 1B Chad Tracy (groin) is on the 15-day DL, OF Jayson Werth (wrist) is on the 60-day DL. On the farm: Gwinnett 1B Ernesto Mejia is tied for third in the International League with 19 home runs and with 62 RBIs. Hes hitting .306. OF Jose Constanza leads the league with a .320 average and OF Luis Durango leads with 32 steals. P Cory Gearrin, who is in Gwinnett, is on the DL. Braves P Peter Moylan, who is coming back from shoulder surgery, tweeted that he will pitch for Rome on Monday. He threw one scoreless inning for Rome on July 13 after pitching 4 23 innings for the Gulf Coast League Braves on his rehab assignment. Random fact: Christian Marrero, Christian Bethancourt and Jason Christian are on Mississippis roster. First-round pick Lucas Sims threw 2 13 scoreless innings in his Danville debut on Saturday. Hes allowed only one earned run and struck out 12 in 9 13 innings. Sims struck out 10 in seven innings for the GCL Braves before being promoted.
