Cleveland Indians outfielder Austin Kearns pleaded not guilty to a DUI charge in a Kentucky court today.
Kearns’ lawyers entered the plea on his behalf Thursday morning in Jessamine County District Court.
He has also been charged with driving without proper insurance. No word on how he pled to that charge.
A pre-trial hearing has been set for April 19. If found guilty of both counts, Kearns will face a minimum of a $700 fine and two days in prison, but the penalty could be as high as $1,500 and 120 days in prison.
No Indians media relations personnel could be reached for comment.
