Sorry for the lack of updates over the past two days, but we are back in the swing of things today. Perhaps the biggest news I missed over the weekend was the call-up and major league debut of the other Yankees catching prospect, Austin Romine. Two things had to happen to get Romine to The Bigs. The first was Russell Martin‘s thumb injury. He injured it over the weekend and despite the fact that x-rays came back negative he needed a few days off before he will be able to catch again. Francisco Cervelli would have taken over the job, but he is experiencing concussion symptoms for the third time in his career and he left the team to have tests taken. A return at some point during the season is likely, possibly after this road trip, but with concussions nothing is certain.
