A's at Twins - Scott Diamond and his 3-1 record take the hill for the Twins today vs Travis Blackley who has not started since 2007. Diamond has not given up a run in 14 innings pitched at Target Field this year. Considering the Twins own the worst ERA among starting pitchers in baseball at 5.47, Diamond is their ace with a 1.78 ERA. The A's have the worst hitting team in the AL with a .209 average. I like Diamond a lot over Blackley and will take the Twins hitters over the A's anyday which leads me to also do the unthinkable and take the Run Line also!
TV's Take: Twins -130; -1.5 +150/Bet $130 to win $100 and Bet $100 -1.5 to win $150
I was very tempted to go against Kevin Millwood and Seattle, but Millwood has been lights out vs the Rangers. The Money Line at -200 is too high for me. Actually, Matt Harrison has been pretty good vs Seattle also, but I do not trust him.

Regardless of the number of times we see this same move executed, it will never get old. We may get tired of ceremonial first pitches or quirky mascot antics before a game begins, but a solider returning home from overseas to surprise his family is always fun to watch. As you can see from the video above, Master Sgt. Robert Buresh returned...
MINNEAPOLIS At the beginning of this season, the Minnesota Twins struggled to turn double plays. For a stretch of six games early in the year, they didn't turn a single one. Often times, they'd get the first out but fail to capitalize on the second one.
Now, Minnesota leads all of baseball in double plays turned, much to the surprise of those turning them.
MINNEAPOLIS Some closers have to wait several days before getting a chance to redeem themselves after a blown save. Matt Capps had to wait just 24 hours.
One day after blowing his first save of the year Sunday in a loss to Detroit, Capps bounced back by picking up the save Monday in Minnesota's 5-4 come-from-behind win over the visiting Oakland Athletics.
On Sunday, Capps...
MINNEAPOLIS In need of another arm in the bullpen, the Minnesota Twins recalled right-hander Jeff Manship from Triple-A Rochester prior to Sunday's game. With the move, Minnesota is back to 13 pitchers on the 25-man roster.
To make room for Manship, the Twins designated outfielder Erik Komatsu for release or assignment.
Manship, 27, has pitched briefly in each of the last...
At yesterday’s Minnesota Twins pre-game, Master Sgt. Robert Buresh, who was stationed in Afghanistan, surprised his daughters as they ran the bases by popping out from behind Twins mascot TC. Happy Memorial Day and thank you to those who keep us safe!
MINNEAPOLIS Through their first several starts, Twins starting pitchers P.J. Walters and Scott Diamond seemed to have success nearly every time out after their promotions from Triple-A Rochester. But their somewhat surprising starts raised the question of what would happen once they faced a team for the second time.
Walters did that Sunday, facing a Detroit Tigers lineup that tagged...
MILWAUKEE Two Saturdays ago, Minnesota Twins rookie Brian Dozier stood in the Miller Park batter's box during the sixth inning of a tie game between Minnesota and Milwaukee, fighting like crazy to hit into an out.Of course, the only out suitable for Dozier entailed lofting a ball to the deepest part of the park deep enough to score the man standing on third base with just one...
Josh Willingham hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning to lift the Minnesota Twins to a 3-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night.
Justin Morneau added two doubles for the Twins, who trailed 2-0 heading into the ninth thanks to a strong start from A's right-hander Jarrod Parker.
But Jamey Carroll led off the ninth with a single against Brian Fuentes (2-1),...
MINNEAPOLIS As 11-year-old Annie Buresh and her 8-year-old sister, Alex, ran the bases prior to Sunday's Minnesota Twins game, they had no idea what kind of surprise awaited them at home plate.
The Buresh sisters rounded third base to see their father, Robert, pop out from behind Twins mascot T.C. Bear to greet the girls at home plate. Master Sgt. Robert Buresh recently returned...
The Minnesota Twins need a win…badly! The problem is, so do the
Oakland A’s. Both teams are undergoing the types of losing skids that
makes them almost unwatchable. The good news
for the A’s and the Twins is that regardless of how awful they’ve been
playing, one team will emerge victorious and end their losing streaks.
The A’s and the Twins have each...
Justin Morneau drove in two runs for Minnesota, including the tying double in the eighth inning for the Twins in a 5-4 victory over Oakland on Monday, the sixth straight loss for the Athletics.
Matt Capps was booed when he took the mound but bounced back from his first blown attempt of the season the day before by striking out his final batter, Jonny Gomes, with the bases loaded...
MINNEAPOLIS -- The normally unflappable Ryan Cook had his worst outing of the season for the Oakland A's on Monday, allowing a pair of runs in the eighth inning as the Minnesota Twins rallied for a 5-4 win on Memorial Day. Cook (1-1), who had not allowed an earned run this season in 21 appearances, gave up an infield single to Joe Mauer, walked Josh Willingham, then allowed...
– The Minnesota Twins designated Erik Komatsu for assignment. Komatsu, 24, was hitting .216/.293/.216 with 1 RBI and a 45 OPS+ in 51 AB's for the Twins this season. This movement will create room for right handed pitcher Jeff Manship who was recalled from Triple-A.
– The Toronto Blue Jays designated right handed pitcher Ryota Igarashi for assignment. The 33-year old Igarashi...
