I suppose that the marquee` moment so to speak for the Baltimore Orioles with regard to the Boston Red Sox over the course of the past five years or so was the Mother’s Day Massacre in 2007 when the O’s blew a 5-1 lead in the last of the ninth to lose to the Red Sox. Certainly there have been other big “moments” over the course of time, most of which have gone in favor of the Red Sox. In fact, part of Birdland’s problem with the Red Sox is the at-times childish manner in which they celebrate these moments, often at the expense of showing up others. Nevertheless, the Red Sox have gotten a taste of what that’s like this week in dropping three-of-four to the O’s.
