Clint Barmes is a strong defensive shortstop, but he struggled offensively batting .229 with eight home runs and 45 RBI in 2012. Barmes told PiratesDugout.com's George Von Benko that he is hoping for better offensive production this season.

  • I hope the Pirates stop their losing streak year after year, but that has not changed. Just like hoping that Clint Barmes will have a productive offensive season. Just do not worry about his offensive capability his defensive output was lousy last year. I was one of few that wanted Ronny Cedeno to stay. Clint Barmes is horrible! No wonder the Pirates still have their consecutive losing seasons because ownership shows no signs of winning.
