Notables Mark McGwire, Jeff Bagwell, Jack Morris, Lee Smith, and Rafael Palmeiro did not get elected, along with first ballot nominee Bernie Willimas.

Larkin was under the radar for most of his career, as defensive-wiz Ozzie Smith was the better known short stop; Larkin lost many gold gloves to the “Wizard.”
Larkin will be inducted to the Hall July 22 with the late Ron Santo, who was voted in by the Veteran’s Committee.
