Baseball Players...At Least They're Tougher Than Soccer Players

Posted July 03, 2008 on WalkerSports's Blog:
So last week during the final stages of the Euro Cup we saw how after taking a blow to the head on guy elected to have staples put into his head as a quick fix. That single act gave soccer players at least a little bit of credibility. Here in the states we have our own pretty body athletes, and we call them baseball players. Sorry, hate to give it out to the guys, but baseball players are the same athletes who get a blister and go on the 15 day DL, from a ruby players perspective that's just soft. Last night Michael Barrett did a lot to improve the tough guy image of baseball players everywhere. While at the plate Barrett took a deflected ball right to the face. What was more impressive was his ability to take the hit and then walk himself off the diamond. X-Rays would show he broke his nose.
