Neither man fared particularly well in his respective Spring Training stint. If this move surprised you, you are easily surprised.
An Assumption: Yoervis Medina is probably less important than Blake Beavan to the Mariners. I would call it a fact, but technically I can’t quantitatively assess importance in this situation without Jack Zduriencik actually confirming my suspicions. And it would be weird if he announced that.
Public Outcry: Beavan’s Wikipedia page is actually smaller than Medina’s. There must be more to be said about Blake Beavan.

I derive five observations from this:
1) Off-season should have be hyphenated. Poor show, anonymous Wikipedia writer.
2) There should be a space between the two sentences. Strike two.
3) I misread “Plano, Texas” as “Piano, Texas.” For those of you who were wondering, there is actually a city named after a piano. Sort of. Eventually we’ll probably have to start naming places after instruments.
4) That second sentence is just painfully awkward. It sounds like it was written for an online dating profile. Not that there’s anything wrong with Blake Beavan having an internet love life. If he does stuff like that, that’s cool with me.
5) Beavan is spelled wrong.
