The Red Sox placed right-handers Josh Beckett, John Lackey, and Manny Delcarmen on waivers Wednesday, according to a source.
Teams have until 1 p.m. Friday to place a claim. The Sox have until Aug. 31 to work out a trade. The move does not necessarily mean the Red Sox will, or even seeking to, trade any of the three; they could be looking to determine if there is interest in any or all of the players
I don't know know what procedural mumbo jumbo is going on here... but I can't imagine Beckett or Lackey appreciating this move AT ALL. You think the Sox would make this move if they were 100% happy with these guys?
Makes you wonder what the hell Theo's got planned here.
