Carlos Gomez launched a home run off of Paul Maholm during the first inning of the Brewers and Braves game on Wednesday, and the stroll around the bases got a bit weird. Gomez hit the home run and it looked like he stared at it a bit too long for Braves’ catcher Brian McCann’s liking. The jawing continued as Gomez rounded the bases and eventually he came face to face with Brian McCann before he could touch home base. The two stood toe to toe, and the benches each poured out on the field as the two teams engaged in some extracurricular activity. Not a pretty scene at all. • McCann should have laid this hotdog out right there in the baseline. I am so sick and tired of these prima donna's in baseball who choose to stand there and admire a HR instead of showing some class and just getting their sorry ass's around the bases. Gomez is a clown and he has a high hard one coming his way real soon.

Carlos Gomez hit-by-pitch leads to bench-clearing altercation in Atlanta

Just two batters in, Wednesday night's game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Atlanta Braves took a turn nobody saw coming. Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez homered off Braves starter Paul Maholm and stood and admired his shot a bit too long. Looking to get back at Maholm for what he felt was an intentional plunking back in June, Gomez said a few words to the left-hander...

McCann stands by actions in Gomez confrontation

Brian McCann got more than his share of air time in the 24 hours after his nose-to-nose confrontation with Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez that fueled a benches-clearing fracas Wednesday night. McCann is featured mask up eyes blazing and shouting at Gomez in countless photos from multiple angles and a myriad of video replays. McCann has had his actions analyzed by broadcasters who...

Carlos Gomez Goes Insane

Carlos Gomez’s home run reaction caused a benches clearing confrontation against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night. Warning: Be prepared for an angry rant about a stupid decision from a not-so-smart baseball player. Before reading this, make sure to watch the video (courtesy of of what happened. Wednesday...

Braves, Brewers benches clear after Carlos Gomez HR trot

Yeah you can't do that Carlos Gomez. You also can't do that Brian McCann. This one certainly appears to be mostly on Gomez but you have to wonder whether something preceded all of this. Gomez almost vengefully swung for the downs on the pitch before he homered and looked quite agitated when he missed and almost fell. One gets the idea that something motivated Gomez's...

Carlos Gomez HR admiration ignites Braves-Brewers brawl (Video)

Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez ignited a bench clearing brawl with the Atlanta Braves in the first inning of Wednesday night's game at Turner Field when he took a bit too long to admire his home run before jogging the bases. Gomez hit the ball deep to left and watched it for a few seconds before one of the Braves (either catcher Brian McCann or first baseman...

Watch: Carlos Gomez hit a home run without touching home plate

photo credit SI.COM Let see, it only took the second batter of the game to rev up this much drama in the first inning as Milwaukee Brewers center fielder, Carlos Gomez hits a rocket dead center for his 23rd home run of the year.  He can tell you that because he admired it from a far, yep he stood right there and watched it!  When he did decide to run around the bases he had some...

Brewers try to return to normalcy versus Mets

It's unknown if the Milwaukee Brewers will have their leading home run hitter for the opener to the final series of this season. With Carlos Gomez potentially facing a suspension, the Brewers will try to spoil the New York Mets' return from a successful road trip Thursday night. Gomez's first-inning homer - his 23rd of the season - got Milwaukee (71-87) started toward...

Gomez, Johnson suspended 1 game

The Brewers' Carlos Gomez and the Braves' Reed Johnson have each been suspended one game after a benches-clearing argument between their teams. Both were also fined an undisclosed amount Thursday. In the top of the first inning Wednesday in Atlanta, Gomez homered off Paul Maholm, still furious the Braves starter hit him with a pitch three months earlier. Gomez stood in...

Braves' Brian McCann is the home run police

Carlos Gomez was ejected from the game yesterday when he showboated a little too much on a home run. While it was unnecessary, I fail to see why baseball players get so upset about a guy admiring a home run. Showboating is accepted in football and basketball, but the "unwritten rules" of baseball, most of which are complete nonsense, don't allow for it. Gomez standing...

The Braves And Brewers Had A Nice, Little Brew HaHa Last Night

Only lesson to learn from this fight: Carlos Gomez is a douche. No class whatsoever. Even better is that all 4 sets of anno… [[ Read More ]]

Gallardo looks to finish tough season on good note

The Milwaukee Brewers seem to enjoy facing the New York Mets on the road. Having Carlos Gomez back may keep it that way. Gomez is scheduled to return from his suspension Friday night when the Brewers attempt to continue their success at Citi Field. Milwaukee (72-87) has won eight of nine visits to Flushing after taking the opener of this four-game set 4-2 on Thursday. The Brewers...

Lohse shuts out the Braves in wild game, Brewers win 4-0

Nobody can say the Milwaukee Brewers went down without a fight in 2013. In what might have been their most interesting game of the season they overcame a first-inning benches-clearing fracas sparked by Carlos Gomez to record their fourth shutout of the Atlanta Braves 4-0 at Turner Field. Kyle Lohse pitched a gem of a game going the distance for the second time in his last three...

P.O.P (Protect Our Pick)

Funny how one night after Carlos Gomez goes into "Falling Down" mode after hitting a home run off Paul Maholm, David Wright gets beaned in the head by an errant changeup by Johnny Hellweg. This of course would give Wright full rights to salsa around the basis the next time he hits a home run off Johnny Hellweg. And if you know me at all, you would think that I would have...
