Biz Z pitched 7 solid innings and went 3 for 4 at the plate, coming up just a triple short of being the first pitcher to ever hit for the cycle. He just missed homering in the 5th, driving one deep to right and off the top of the wall, but didn't miss his chance in the 7th, taking a two strike pitch from Vazquez the opposite way and just over the top of the wall, bouncing off a fan in the first row and back onto the field. Koyie Hill, who had another solid night at the plate with 3 hits, grounded out to end the 8th leaving Big Z in the hole, and no shot at getting that triple.

Soriano stayed blistering hot, hitting a 3 run bomb in the 3rd that gave the Cubs a 3-0 lead.

Soriano is off to a torrid start, which is his best as a cub through the first 19 games.
