TEAMS:
Cincinnati Reds
The Billings Mustangs begin play on Monday the 18th, but it appears that they have begun adding players to their roster on Milb.com. While their current ‘roster’ on their website has far too many players on it, I am more interested in seeing the players who have been added to it today as you figure those are the guys who will actually be playing there (with a few hold overs from last year). Here are some of the more interesting guys:
Tony Amezcua
He was drafted by the Reds back in 2010 in the 7th round and had good scouting reports coming out of high school, but he has only managed to throw 15.1 innings since then. Coming out of high school he has a slightly above-average fastball and a curveball with really good potential along with a change up.
Gabriel Rosa
Rosa will play this year at 18 years old and is the Reds 2nd rounder from 2011. He has some big time power potential, though he is probably going to be one of the more raw players on the Mustangs.

Phillips starts DP between his legs
Brandon Phillips is well known for making amazing plays at second base for the Cincinnati Reds. The eleven year veteran added to his web gem portfolio on Sunday with an amazing between the leg flip to start a double play.
Phillips raced down a shot up the middle by Ike Davis and then tossed the ball between his legs to shortstop Zack Cozart, who then completed the twin-killer with...

Score another one for the walking wounded
It's official. Another Reds player has fallen victim to the injury bug and that unfortunate soul is Drew Stubbs. Game 63: Reds 7, Mets 3
Lest you think that sweep of the Indians was a fluke, the Reds extended their winning streak to 4 games last night by beating the Mets 7-3.

The Reds (38-27) met the Mets (35-32) in their last game of a three game series this Father's Day afternoon. Johnny Cueto not only had a great outing on the mound (7.0 IP, 6 H, 1 ER 1 BB, 8 SO) but also got the first multiple base hit of his career on a stand up double in the 3rd inning. Cueto continues to prove he's one of the best pitchers in the National League. Great...

Reds 3, Mets 1
NEW YORK -- Before the game, Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker shook his head. A life-long student of the game as a player and manager, he was as stumped as an average fan on some questions. He pointed to how the New York Mets had scored 29 runs against an impressive Tampa Bay Rays pitching staff in a three-game sweep entering the weekend, then struggled against the Reds in the...
