Blaze Alexander Secures 1st Major League Hit in D-backs’ Monumental Inning
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

To cap off a massive 14-run 3rd inning, which broke a franchise record, rookie Blaze Alexander picked up his first major league hit.

It was a two-out single up the middle on a 3-2 count that marked his official entry into the big leagues.

Selected in the 11th round of the 2018 draft, Alexander played merely 73 games in Triple-A last year. However, a standout performance this spring secured his spot on the Opening Day roster.

The Diamondbacks wasted no time dusting off the offseason dust, as they recorded 16 hits in the first three innings.

It took them just three innings to tie their 2023 high for runs in a game.
