By designating Bush for assignment the Blue Jays have cleared a spot for the recently-claimed Mauro Gomez. Toronto has assigned Gomez to Triple-A after picking him off waivers from Boston. He will serve as organizational depth.
In his nine year big league career Bush has a career 56-69 record to go with a 4.73 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. There is a good chance the Blue Jays keep him around if he clears waivers.
