J.P. Arencibia went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as visiting Toronto opened a three-game set against Kansas City with a 4-3 victory Friday.

The Blue Jays snapped a two-game skid and handed the Royals their eighth straight loss and seventh in a row during this current 10-game homestand.

Arencibia drove home Eric Thames with a single to center field to get the Blue Jays on the board in the fifth.

He sparked a three-run rally in the eighth, driving in the tying run after Colby Rasmus led off the inning with a double. Toronto loaded the bases for Jose Bautista, who scored the go-ahead run on a RBI single to right. The Blue Jays added an insurance run on Edwin Encarnacion’s sacrifice fly.

Toronto's Kyle Drabek struggled with his control through 5 1/3 innings, giving up two runs on four hits but walking six batters while striking out five. Reliever Luis Perez (1-0) earned the win.

Mike Moustakas hit a solo home run in the second and the Royals took a 2-0 lead when Drabek’s wild pitch allowed Jeff Francoeur to score from third.

Kansas City trimmed the lead to one on Yuniesky Betancourt’s RBI single in the ninth, but Sergio Santos got Eric Hosmer to ground out to end the game and earn his second save.

Luke Hochevar was solid through five innings before a lingering ankle injury forced him out, allowing one run on two hits with five strikeouts. Greg Holland (0-1) allowed three runs and three hits.

Hosmer hit into a triple play in the bottom of the third. With runners at first and second, Hosmer hit a rocket to first baseman Adam Lind, who tagged the bag and threw out Eric Gordon at second. It was the fourth triple play in Blue Jays' history.
