Jon Lester is slated to make his first big league start for the Boston Red Sox " since being diagnosed with a treatable form of anaplastic large cell lymphoma last August." Lester's road back to the majors took him through six chemotherapy treatments to become free of cancer back in December. He then went through Spring Training and pitched the first half of the season in the minors. His health seems fine, his only set back since returning to the mound was a tight forearm. So far this season Lester has "made 17 starts in the Minor Leagues this season, 14 which have come at Triple-A Pawtucket. Lester is 4-5 with a 3.61 ERA over 84 and 2/3 innings. Lester has held opponents to a .247 average." Just another reason to root for the Sox over the Yanks.
