Well, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em — or, if you’re Bobby Valentine, put on imitation MLB jerseys and laugh along with those who have enjoyed seeing you get fired throughout the years. Valentine is the star of a new CBS Sports Fantasy Baseball commercial, where he — described on-screen as a “famous baseball manager” — recounts how he’s been fired a lot in his managerial career. Now, however, he can run his own fantasy team without having to be afraid of the hook. The clip shows him being “fired” by various teams throughout his career — the Texas Rangers, the Chiba Lotte Marines (twice), the New York Mets (in his famous disguise) and finally, the Boston Red Sox. Say what you will about Bobby Valentine and his inability to hold a job in professional baseball, but the man clearly has a sense of humor. Valentine’s career with the Boston Red Sox lasted about as long as most of us expected and went about as well as we would have imagined, so he decided to take a safer job as the athletic director at Sacred Heart University this year. He filmed this short online commercial to promote the product, while poking fun at his past failures: I like the cameo of “President Bush.”
Say what you want about Bobby Valentine, but at least he's got a sense of humor? I have a feeling a similar phone call will be coming from Sacred Heart in about a year.

Well look who’s come crawling back as he begins his public relations
cleanup campaign, Bobby Valentine. Apparently Bobby realized that all the
negative publicity headed his way was, in fact, due to his own stupidity. Perhaps I’ve
been a little harsh on the former Red Sox manager but it’s about time he
realizes all those verbal tirades against his former team were doing more...
Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout turned last year’s American League MVP voting into a two-horse race, but former Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine thinks someone else was in the discussion before an injury derailed his season.
Valentine spoke glowingly of David Ortiz in an interview on Boston’s NBC Sports Radio on Thursday, making it clear that he thinks Ortiz is as good as they come...
Terry Francona sees Bobby Valentine’s bike riding and raises him a scooter.
The former Red Sox managers may share an affinity for alternate modes of transportation, but no injuries occurred for Francona while he was riding his scooter throughout Arizona. During spring training, the Cleveland Indians skipper has been foregoing a vehicle with four wheels, and instead opting for one...
