Bruce Bochy heads down the stairs that lead from the clubhouse to the dugout, greeting each player he passes along the way. Whether friendly during a winning streak or firm after a tough loss, the San Francisco Giants have come to rely on one thing when it comes to their manager: Boch, as they call him, has their best interests at heart. Yet this year tested Bochy like no other in nearly two decades on the top dugout step. Two wins away from joining an exclusive club of 22 other managers to win at least two World Series championships, even Bochy will acknowledge he never saw this special October run coming. Two years after winning the title, the Giants took a 2-0 lead into Game 3 on Saturday night against the Detroit Tigers.

Bird poops on anchor outside AT&T Park

It may somehow mean good luck to the San Francisco Giants, but Paul Robins is the one who took it for the team after a bird pooped on the local TV anchor while he and Bethany Crouch were doing a live pre-World Series broadcast outside AT&T Park Thursday. Yes — and Robins is his real name. The Sacramento-based KTXL morning show anchor took a direct hit to his shoulder from...

Tim Lincecum Will Go Back to Rotation Next Year Despite Postseason Success in Bullpen

Apparently the Giants aren't willing to fork over $22 million next season for Tim Lincecum to pitch out of the bullpen. Manager Bruce Bochy confirmed on Sunday that despite Lincecum's postseason success in the bullpen, he'll return to his usual role as a starter in 2013 according to USA Today Sports. 40 Photos of the San Francisco Giants World Series 2012 Fan Riot

What a night! The timing of RSVLTS.com’s trip to San Francisco couldn’t have been any better. First off, we left NYC only hours before Hurricane Sandy hit and we also arrived the night the Giants beat Tigers to win their second World Series in three years. Lucky for us our hotel was about half a block from the impromptu fan riot at the intersection of 3rd Street and Market Street...

Champions

The Giants have won the World Series. Every year, 30 teams play toward this end goal, and every year, only one of them actually achieves it. The odds are depressingly low. And yet, the Giants have now won two championships in the last three years. There were so many things that could have done the Giants in this year. They were fortunate enough to avoid another barrage of injuries...

Giants shut out Tigers again in Game 3

Nothing is stopping them -- not even the Triple Crown winner at the plate with the bases loaded. Armed and accelerating, the San Francisco Giants became the first team to throw consecutive World Series shutouts in nearly a half-century, blanking Miguel Cabrera and the Detroit Tigers 2-0 on a chilly Saturday night for a commanding 3-0 lead. ''I'll say this: The club...

Congrats to the Giants

Marco Scutaro got to avoid the colossal mess that was the 2012 Red Sox and ended up winning a World Series title on the west coast. In my Bob Lobel voice, "How come we can't get guys like that?" Congrats to the the Giants on their sweep. The Giants join the Red Sox, Cardinals, and Yankees as teams that have won titles since 2000. This was supposed to be our millenium!

Giants 4, Tigers 3

DETROIT -- The San Francisco Giants made it a clean sweep. Second baseman Marco Scutaro hit the game-winning single with two outs in the top of the 10th inning to score Ryan Theriot, and the Giants completed a four-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers with a 4-3 victory on Sunday night to win the World Series. Giants closer Sergio Romo pitched a scoreless bottom of the 10th inning...
