The Red Sox Outsider:
Everyone knows Scott Boras the agent, but what about the baseball guy? Normally, i would say he isn't very educated as a baseball guy but when it comes to Dice-K he is very right. Matsuzaka needs to start throwing less pitches ASAP.

Like the previous poster stated...he averaged well over 100+ pitches a game in Japan, and even throwing 171 pitches in a complete game loss in 2003. Again, like he said, they had a 6-man rotation, and he only made between 27-29 starts a season...but, I'm sure he'll be fine. When will people learn that different pitchers have different capabilities?! He's obviously managed to keep his arm live and fresh this long, I'm pretty sure he would know if his arm was getting "tired". He'll be fine...relax Sox Nation.
From Wikpedia
"In the quarterfinals of that year's Summer Koshien, Matsuzaka threw 254 pitches in 17 innings in a win over powerhouse PL Gakuen. The next day, trailing by six runs during an 0-6 score at the end of the top of the eighth inning, the team miraculously won the game by scoring 7 runs in the last two innings (four in the eighth and three in the ninth). In that game he started in left field, but came in as a relief in the ninth inning to record a win. In the final, he threw a no-hitter, the second ever in a final."
