ARLINGTON, Texas Julio Borbon doesn't know what his baseball future holds, but he knows that after Tuesday it likely won't have anything to do with the Texas Rangers.
The club is expected to designate Borbon for assignment Tuesday to clear room for starting pitcher Nick Tepesch. It's almost an automatic that Borbon won't clear waivers, which will end his time with the organization that used a supplemental pick on Borbon in 2007.
Borbon is greeting the news with a mixture of sadness and excitement.
"Where, that's the question," Borbon said. "There are options of different teams that you here. There's nothing you can guarantee. It's very weird, especially being here. You feel comfortable being around the guys, but not the situation."
Borbon made the Rangers out of spring partly because he didn't have options remaining. The extra time on the roster provided Texas with an opportunity to deal Borbon if it could. It hasn't happened and Borbon has had just one at-bat in the first six ...
