BOS 1, KAN 0: Lester delivers

Boston's bullpen will be thanking Jon Lester. The crafty lefty pitched eight shutout innings allowing just four hits, two walks and eight strikeouts giving the pen a break. Only Jonathan Papelbon was used in the ninth completing his 23rd save of the season. Dustin Pedroia drove in Boston's lone run with a wall-ball double to deep left field. Star of the Game - Lester Two incredibly positive things from this outing. One being that Lester has got it going. Two being that the bullpen caught a break in last night's win. Next Game - 7/11 vs. Kansas City Royals - Gil Meche/John Smoltz Smoltz will treat the Fenway Faithful to a better start this time around.
