With September’s brutal collapse still lingering like a gray cloud, the Boston Red Sox are doing their level best to move on.  The team lost both Terry Francona and Theo Epstein last month; their former Boy Wonder GM is now President of Baseball Operations for the Chicago Cubs while Tito has yet to land a new gig as skipper. Boston is stil waiting on compensation for the departed Theo Epstein (Rogash/ Getty) Could he replace Tony La Russa in St. Louis?  Possibly.  But rest assured that someone with Francona’s skill won’t stay unemployed for long. For their part, the Sox are currently interviewing replacement candidates, and new GM Ben Cherington expects to speak with “six or seven” potential managers before making a decision.  The team is targeting the Thanksgiving holiday as its informal deadline.
