This little post could also be titled "Stupid Advertisers," but I didn't think that would get too many people to click on the post and check it out. Plus it doesn't really tell you too much, and talking about someone getting destructive--I admit, I would click on the post even if I didn't write it. Anyway...the pitcher in question is Joel Hanrahan, and in the top of the ninth he has a wild pitch that got a little too wild and did some damage to one of the signs behind home plate. Now is it just me or is anyone else wondering why they put something back there in a position that could get hit by errant baseballs travelling at incredibly high speeds that could break so easy? Just seems kinda silly to me. Your browser does not support iframes.

Joel Hanrahan Struggles With Injury Early in Red Sox Campaign, Leaves Game After Giving Up Game-Tying Home Run (Video)

Joel Hanrahan gave up a game-tying home run in the ninth inning of the Red Sox’ Monday night matchup against the Minnesota Twins. To make matters worse, Hanrahan left the game with right forearm tightness just after giving up the hit. The Sox closer has already seen the disabled list this season, suffering from a hamstring issue in April, and it is certainly not the way Hanrahan...

Whatever happened to Joel Hanrahan’s elbow may be worse than everyone thought — but, then again, it could also be better. Hanrahan told ESPN.com he will visit Dr. James Andrews on Friday to get further diagnosis on his injured right elbow, which caused him to leave Monday’s game and land on the disabled list. The injury is being called a flexor muscle strain. Hanrahan said...

Joel Hanrahan Leaves Game with Forearm Tightness

Joel Hanrahan's career as Boston Red Sox closer took a turn for the worse last night, as the flamethrower left last night's game against the Minnesota Twins not only having given up the lead on a game tying solo home run to Brian Dozier, but also experiencing tightness in his right forearm. Hanrahan mentioned that he: ...felt a little pull, like my forearm went a little...

Joel Hanrahan to seek second opinion with Dr. James Andrews

The Boston Red Sox bullpen injury woes grow larger, with news that Joel Hanrahan's forearm injury could be worse than originally expected, prompting a visit to renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews on Friday for consultation. Having already reached out to New York Mets team physician Dr. David Altcheck for his opinion on Hanrahan's flexor mass strain, the Red...

Hanrahan: Bust, or just unlucky?

AP Photo/Elise Amendola Sam Galanis Contributing Writer It’s always risky to take a player who has been performing well and move them to another team. It’s even riskier when the team that they’re going to is the Boston Red Sox. Many major league ballplayers have testified to the fact that going to Boston is isn’t easy, whether you’re traded there or you’re simply on...

Boston Red Sox Disable Joel Hanrahan, Recall Allen Webster

The Boston Red Sox have placed right-handed closer Joel Hanrahan on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right forearm. This is a major blow as a few days ago the organization also lost Andrew Bailey for a minimum of a few weeks. To take Hanrahan’s spot on the active roster, Boston has decided to recall right-handed pitcher Allen Webster from their Triple-A Pawtucket minor...

Prospect Notebook: The Other Guys From the Hanrahan Trade

Joel Hanrahan was placed on the disabled list in Boston yesterday with right forearm tightness. I’ve pointed out in the past that the Hanrahan trade is looking good, simply because of how Hanrahan’s value has plummeted, Mark Melancon has rebounded to a top reliever, and Stolmy Pimentel has gotten off to a great start in Altoona. The fact that the Pirates got four years of Melancon...

Hammer still hurtin'

The Sox placed Hanrahan on the 15-day disabled list for the second time this season on Tuesday. Hanrahan, who has never had a surgery in his MLB career told WEEI's Rob Bradford, “It’s been...

Tazawa Named Closer With Hanrahan Injury

John Farrell said on MLB Network Radio that Junichi Tazawa, not Koji Uehara, will be the Red Sox closer for the time being. Here is what he said: Farrell: “We’d look to close Tazawa, keep Koji in the 8th inning role he’s been in. Fortunately we have some depth internally” — MLB Network Radio (@MLBNetworkRadio) May 7, 2013   Joel Hanrahan, the assumed closer with Andrew...

Junichi Tazawa to Close for Red Sox in Joel Hanrahan’s Absence, John Farrell Says

The next Red Sox pitcher in line for saves has been named. Junichi Tazawa is the third Red Sox reliever named closer in this young 2013 season. Red Sox manager John Farrell told Jim Duquette on MLB Network Radio that Tazawa will close while Joel Hanrahan and Andrew Bailey deal with injuries. Bailey was put on the 15-day disabled list Monday, and Hanrahan hurt his arm in the ninth...

3 stars of the game: Game 32

If you went to bed early last night you missed an amazing finish to the Red Sox game. After a blown save by Joel Hanrahan (shocker) the Red Sox and Twins battled it out in extra innings before Stephen Drew allowed Dirty Water to be blared over the PA system and fans to scramble to get on the T before the last train left. The win was an important one for the Red Sox, while Buchholz...

Boston Red Sox Pitcher Andrew Bailey Goes On The DL

Bailey, who has not pitched since April 28th against Houston, was looking to avoid a DL stint before an MRI confirmed that he was suffering...

Red Sox To Designate Holt For Assignment

Can you literally already close the book on the Joel Hanrahan trade?  Mark Melancon has already been the superior pitcher.  Stolmy Pimentel is smoking AA and now it’s being reported that the Red Sox are going to DFA Brock Holt to bring up a reliever to replace the injured Hanrahan. Looks like Brock Holt may…
