The Boston Red Sox will start their final series before the all-star break Friday night against the Oakland Athletics at O.co Coliseum. The Red Sox will send quite possibly the American League Comeback Player of the Year on the mound to start the series.  John Lackey got off to a slow start in his return from elbow surgery, which sidelined him for the entire 2012 season. The pitcher started the season 1-4 with a 4.05 ERA, but ever since then, the former World Series hero has been marvelous the past two months.  In the 10 starts since his slow start, Lackey has been 5-2 with a 2.30 ERA.  The Red Sox are coming off an offensive explosion in their last three games against the Seattle Mariners. The Sox scored 30 runs to win the last three games of the four game series.  David Ortiz had eight hits in the series against Seattle with two homeruns and four RBIs.
