The Indians pulled off the double header sweep of the White Sox today, winning the nightcap 3-2. Tomlin was magnificent, and the offense supplied just enough. Tony Sipp gets the save for Joe Smith who gets the relief win.

Jimenez finally shows improvement for Tribe

Every one of Ubaldo Jimenez's starts have seemed like soap operas, as the big right-hander has struggled to throw strikes, keep his pitch counts down, and pitch deep into games. Jimenez was able to do all that Sunday in his best start of the season, a 4-2 decision over the Texas Rangers. Jimenez pitched seven scoreless innings on two hits, with six strikeouts. He did walk five...

Tribe Weekend Wrapup: ActaBall Reigns Supreme

Can you climb on board the bandwagon now? There is plenty of room to join us. Still time too! After a weekend in which your first place Cleveland Indians took two of three from the best team in baseball, the Texas Rangers (and really, they were a sac fly away from a sweep), how can you not be impressed by what you are seeing? How could you not want to come out and support this team...

Tribe Grit: Indians Take Two From the White Sox and Keep Rolling

It was quite the double dip yesterday down at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario. The weather was dicey. The fact that they were able to get two games in was a borderline miracle. At noon, it was dark and a torrential downpour at Progressive Field. Yet at 1:05, the sun was out and the tarp was lifted. The first pitch came at 1:30. The afternoon tilt was literally a tale of two games...

White Sox 5, Indians 3(10)

Alex Rios tripled home the go-ahead run in the 10th inning and the Chicago White Sox beat the Cleveland Indians 5-3 Tuesday night. Cleveland closer Chris Perez (0-1) yielded a leadoff single to Paul Konerko, who was replaced by pinch runner Brent Lillibridge. After A.J. Pierzynski fouled out, Rios lined a ball over the head of second baseman Jason Kipnis that rolled all the way...

Indians 4, Rangers 2

Ubaldo Jimenez pitched seven scoreless innings and the Cleveland Indians handed Yu Darvish his first major league loss in a 4-2 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday. Asdrubal Cabrera hit a two-run double and Jason Kipnis homered off the Japanese star, who struck out a career-high 11 over six innings. Jimenez (3-2) walked four in the first three innings but settled down and permitted...

Indians 8, White Sox 6

Zach McAllister pitched six innings for his first major league win as the Cleveland Indians roughed up a far-from-perfect Philip Humber in an 8-6 win Monday over the Chicago White Sox in the first game of a day-night doubleheader. McAllister, recalled from Triple-A Columbus to make his fifth career start, allowed just two earned runs and six hits. The Indians took their turn pounding...

Chicago White Sox must start winning the close ones

To be honest, I was very optimistic going into this weekend’s series against the Detroit Tigers. Our Chicago White Sox were coming off a series loss against the division rival Cleveland Indians, but the Tigers have not necessarily been playing up to their potential. With Jake Peavy on the mound on Friday, it was looking like we would take advantage of their shortcomings and start...

5/7 Game 1 Recap: White Sox 6 - Indians 8

Player of the Game Michael Brantley win his first Player of the Game of the season, with a score of 5.35. Brantley was a key to the offense today, with a single, a double, 3 RBI, and a run scored. The second place candidate for player of the game followed Brantley in the line-up today. Casey Kotchman contended with a score of 4.85, consisting of a double, a run, and 3 RBI. With...

The Suite life of CST's Doug and Tom

Social media is a tool that's brought us closer than ever to our well-loved sports' teams. It allows us to follow the innermost breakfast plans of our favorite athletes, who, it turns out, enjoy slices of banana in their Frosted Flakes just like us mouth-breathing commoners. How interesting! The Cleveland Indians already have a reputation as being one of MLB...

Audio: Ozzie Guillen Telling Radio Guy To “Grow Up Motherf*cker”

So it seems Ozzie Guillen is finished being quiet about the Fidel Castro fiasco and will take out his anger on Houston sports radio hosts. Up first, Paul Gallant. This bro had the balls to ask Ozzie if the firestorm back in Miami had settled down. Pretty straightforward question and seemed innocent enough. A simple, “Yeah, you know, I think things are much better. Now we just...

You stay classy, Ozzie Guillen

Last month, Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen found himself at the center of an intense controversy in his new place of work when he told Time Magazine, "I love Fidel Castro."  A firestorm ensued and there was a time we wondered whether or not Ozzie would be able to keep his job.  There are still likely many fans of the team and residents of Miami that would like...

The Filibuster

Feel bad about slamming Peavy yet? Mike G. Chicago, IL ___________________________________ This question makes the very broad assumption that I feel anything. I don’t. If I did I would already be cowering in shame because the Cardinals just dropped a series to the LOLstros. But this is baseball. It defies feeling. It defies logic. The Red Sox and Phillies in last place? The Dodgers...
