Yankees-cano-gets-high
In the first inning of Sunday's Yankees-White Sox game, Robinson Cano grounded into a double play off Gavin Floyd. In the third inning, he worked his way into a 3-1 count. Here's what happened then: That's an ugly swing, especially in a hitter's count. Cano certainly thought so. That prompted this exchange between YES Network broadcasters Michael Kay and Paul O'Neill: Kay: He's got Cano a little off balance. O'Neill: Yeah, Robbie Cano hasn't had a lot of success off Floyd. He's 3-for-19, which is .157. And you see, this is the only thing when Robbie ever struggles, he leaves the zone. He gets out, he swings at balls. Sometimes you just do not pick up pitchers well. This might be one of those guys that Robbie just does not see the ball well. Next pitch: O'Neill: Sometimes you're  better off just not saying anything. Yeah.

Yankees OF pitches, retires two hitters

On the cusp of their second straight loss, trailing 14-7 in the 9th inning Yankees manager Joe Girardi was out of options at the pitching position. So he decided to call upon his outfielder Dewayne Wise to take the bump. Now most of us our probably thinking how many hits and runs did Wise give up, but the exact opposite happened. He actually got two pretty good hitters out in Paul...

Garcia gives Yankees a chance in his return to rotation

Freddy Garcia's first go-around in the New York Yankees rotation was a mess. Based on his outing Monday, his second shot looks to be off to a solid start. Garcia allowed two runs on five hits, striking out four batters without issuing a walk in a no-decision as the Yankees lost 4-3 to the Tampa Bay Rays. "I need to step up," Garcia said. "We've got a couple...

C.C. Sabathia has Spiderman fly out his butt (Video)

Last month, an unfortunate graphic placement during a YES Network telecast between the Braves/Yankees caused one of America's greatest super heroes to appear to fly out of Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia's rear-end. The spot was for the new Spiderman flick and keep an eye on the lower left hand corner of the screen:

Derek Jeter gets hit by pitch in slo-mo

During Saturday afternoon's sweltering matinee in Yankee Stadium, Derek Jeter turned to avoid getting hit in the jewels by an inside pitch and— when replayed in slow-motion— it kind of looks like he was doing the Watusi or some other dance from the '60's. Whether or not Jake Peavy's fifth-inning throw was intentional, Jeter just shook it a little more and took...

Yankees 4, White Sox 2

NEW YORK -- As part of an on-camera interview during the New York Yankees' annual Old-Timers Day festivities, former second baseman Willie Randolph joked he would turn some double plays during the game at his old position. Then he laughed and cautioned current Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano to "look out" for him. The more accurate warning would be for opponents...

I Told You So !

I predicted yesterday before Warren's start that his performance would be "disappointing."I predicted that he would not leave the game with 8 innings of two hit ball behind him, and no more than one run yielded.  That he would not be like all the AA and AAA fill-in starters the Yankees occasionally face, who shut us down as if the Yankees were fielding a high school...
