Ryan Braun is out of Wednesday's lineup against Cincinnati, due to an elbow injury he sustained when being hit by a pitch in Tuesdays game against the Reds.
Braun told reporters on Wednesday morning that he wasn't even able to bend his arm fully in the hours before Wednesday's getaway game.
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said he doesn't expect the injury to be a serious issue going forward. Braun also remained optimistic that he'd be in the lineup when Milwaukee returned to action Friday after Thursday's off-day.
"Sometimes you get hit in good spots, you can play the next day," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke told reporters. But with the off-day tomorrow, I don't think it'll be an issue."
Wednesday will mark the fifth game Braun has missed this season, as the Brewers left fielder continues to hit at an even better pace than his 2011 NL MVP season. Braun was batting .311 with 20 home runs and 52 RBI through Tuesday night.
