MILWAUKEE With legendary Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones likely playing in his final game against the Milwaukee Brewers, the organization, like many others around the league, presented him with a gift for his longevity and effect on the game he played for 19 years. So naturally, being that it is Milwaukee, after all, the Brewers' racing sausages drove a cart over to the Braves dugout before the start of Wednesday night's game and parked near Jones with a large silver gas grill the first half of his gift displayed in the middle. But the grill was only the beginning of the Brewers' gift to Jones. The organization also presented him with a year's supply of Klement's sausages. Jones' face lit up as he received the gift from Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun and front office assistant Craig Counsell, both of whom had played against Jones at various times in his career. In what has been somewhat of a reunion tour this season, Jones has received a wide variety of gifts, including a surfboard (from the Padres), a cowboy hat (from the Astros), a wide array of third bases (from the Yankees, Nationals, and Reds), among other things. But the Brewers' gift on Wednesday definitely might have been one of the cooler presents to the soon-to-be Hall-of-Famer. Follow Ryan Kartje on Twitter.
