Many Mets Fans have expressed that they would like to see the Wilpons fall on their face and are forced to sell the team...

Will We See Johan Santana on the Mound for Opening Day?

Before yesterdays outing against the Detroit Tigers, Mets fans alike were seeing a healthy Johan Santana coming back strong and healthy.  His stats from his first two outings were telling us that things were going well and maybe we might soon see the Santana of old (calm, cool, and dominant). In his first two starts of the spring, Santana had a 0.00 ERA with 2 K’s, and a WHIP...

2012 Mets Prospect Predictions

As I gaze into my crystal ball for 2012, here’s a gander at what I see happening in the upcoming Mets Minor League season… Pitchers Most Wins: Collin McHugh Call this a bit of a bold selection, but for the first time in a long time I think the Mets have their best collection of offensive talent at Triple-A. With that said, I probably would have gone with Chris Schwinden if...

The Wire: Jair Jurrjens

Author: Andrew SwansonA staple of value based investing is identifying a strong company with a proven track record whose stock is currently undervalued by the market. Purchasing a value stock while it is depressed in value affords the investor an excellent opportunity as the company will likely return to its true (book) value in the future. This same principle can be applied to...

The First Cuts Are The Deepest

Yesterday, was a big day in at the Mets Spring Training Complex at Digital Domain Park as the team made their first round of cuts and reassigned 13 players to minor league camp. The move left the Mets with 42 players in camp which will eventually be pared down to 25 before Opening Day. There’s no telling who if any of the players cut will be back again in 2012, but let’s take...

Brandon in PSL: Coming to terms with Mets’ ugly loss

Today’s game was painful for a few reasons: one, I had to sit through nine innings of major league players trying to play baseball, and two, I was sitting out in The Berm, which is the seating area on the ground in right field. I wouldn’t recommend these “seats” for anyone if they go. While it’s a different way to watch the game, the angle of the grass we were sitting on...

Loewen's bat looking like a fit...

Photo by Michael BaronUnlike Dan Murphy the only thing that counts for Adam Loewen is his bat and so far this spring his bat is winning him a spot on the team. As a bench player, how important is his defensive skills, basically he's a pinch hitter and part-time/fill-in outfielder. While he's butchered several plays in the outfield, so far this spring he has also covered...

Minor stretches scoreless streak to 14 innings

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- The Braves' Mike Minor stretched his scoreless streak to 14 innings and Baltimore's Tsuyoshi Wada made his delayed debut as Atlanta and an Orioles split squad tied 2-2 in 10 innings Sunday. KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- Jason Heyward hit a grand slam off Wandy Rodriguez for his second homer in three games and Michael Bourn hit a two-run shot as the Atlanta Braves beat the Houston Astros 9-5 on Friday night. Tommy Hanson, making his spring debut after having his first start cut shot by rain, pitched three innings and gave up two runs, including a homer by Travis Buck. The...

Collins Undecided If Johan Starts On Opening Day

According Andy Martino of the Daily News, manager Terry Collins does not believe Johan Santana will open the season on the disabled list, but he’s not yet decided if Santana will be his Opening Day starter. “I have not decided who is pitching Opening Day. Now, my point is, right now, as we get through spring training, we may have to make adjustments. If Johan is, ‘Hey...

Season Preview: New York Mets

The New York Mets were never contenders in 2011, and embarked on, what I think, is a three-year journey back towards respectable baseball.  Jose Reyes, starting shortstop for the Mets, won the batting title in an otherwise inconsequential season full of injuries, and turmoil.  The NL East has become the Phillies division, with the Nationals and Marlins on the rise, while the Braves and
