Hudson seeks second opinion; surgery likely

PHOENIX Daniel Hudson did not know it at the time, but he may have been staring directly at his future in Atlanta last Tuesday. Braves right-hander Tim Hudson, also on the mound that night, has won 41 games, made an All-Star team and finished fourth in NL Cy Young voting since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2008. Daniel Hudson is expected to undergo a similar procedure after...

D-backs head to Atlanta looking to stay hot

An ailing left ankle doesn't seem to have given Braves starter Tim Hudson too many problems this month. Matchups with the Diamondbacks haven't usually proved troublesome, either. The veteran right-hander, though, could have some difficulty extending his dominance over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday night when he faces a hot-hitting club seeking to match its longest win streak...

Arizona Diamondbacks’ Daniel Hudson Tears UCL

According to Nick Piecoro via Twitter, Arizona Diamondbacks’ RHP Daniel Hudson has a UCL tear in his right elbow. Hudson will most likely require Tommy John surgery and be out for the rest of the 2012 season and a good portion of the 2013 season. That’s what sucks about this type of injury. Not only will Hudson be toast for this year, but toast for most of 2013. This is a killer...

D-backs' Hudson pulled with tight forearm

ATLANTA (AP) -- Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Daniel Hudson left his start against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night with tightness in his right forearm. Hudson, who was on the disabled list from April 21 to May 27 with a right shoulder impingement, was removed in the second inning. He gave up five runs and seven hits in 1 2-3 innings. After giving up five hits and three...

Daniel Hudson Leaves With Forearm Injury

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Daniel Hudson left tonight’s game in the second inning with forearm tightness. Hudson allowed five runs on seven hits in just one and two-thirds innings before leaving the game with the injury. Josh Collementer relieved Hudson with a 1-0 count to Braves catcher Brian McCann. Hudson told reporters after the game that he has been dealing with...

Diamondbacks-Braves Preview

An ailing left ankle hasn't appeared to give Atlanta Braves starter Tim Hudson too many problems this month. Matchups with the Arizona Diamondbacks have also usually proved not so troublesome. The veteran right-hander, though, could have some difficulty extending his dominance over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday night when he faces a hot-hitting club seeking to match its longest...

Arizona's Drew returning, but Hudson could be out long term

Tuesday was a day of changes for the Arizona Diamondbacks -- two expected and one forced. Shortstop Stephen Drew met the D-backs in Atlanta after finishing a 20-day rehab assignment and will be activated Wednesday, when he will start against Atlanta right-hander Tommy Hansen, manager Kirk Gibson said. Drew has not appeared in a major league game since July 20, 2011, the day he...

The 2012 Minor League Report – Week 13

The Arizona Diamondbacks lost another starting pitcher in their rotation with Daniel Hudson done for the season and facing Tommy John surgery. For now the team is moving Josh Collmenter into the rotation but that could just be short-term coverage until the All-Star break. I would look at grabbing Tyler Skaggs as a play for the second half of the season. Skaggs has a 2.84 ERA at...

Damn Y’all Hudson!

In a Hudson vs. Hudson battle, Tim won on a technicality as Daniel Hudson left the game with what seemed to be a forearm injury.  To add insult to injury, he left the game after giving up 5 ER on 7 hits in 1 2/3 IP.  With a ghastly 7.35 ERA in 45 IP this year, injury or not, it’s time to cut Daniel Hudson from mixed leagues.  He looked primed to build upon a solid 2011 but so...

D-backs hope to bounce back with Cahill

Manager Fredi Gonzalez wants to see improvement from the Atlanta Braves rotation. He's getting plenty of production at the plate, particularly from Freddie Freeman. Tommy Hanson looks to give Atlanta another strong effort on the mound as Freeman and the rest of the Braves try to continue roughing up Arizona Diamondbacks pitching Wednesday night. Atlanta (39-34) has a 4.15...
